Sometimes in HR we are so focused on making sure our managers and employees have development plans in place, that we forget or don't have time to think about our own development! Or we struggle to find practical tools or suggestions to help. That's where this section comes in!

At Elephant we believe you should 2 development plans in place (hey look, we're HR. We're allowed to break the rule of only having 1 development plan!!) The 2 plans you should are a Career development plan to build specific skills and experience related to all the different areas of HR for a generalist role. The second plan is your Personal Development Plan to use your strengths and develop your areas to improve how you practise HR.

To get you started on your career development plan, we've been putting together skills builder documents which have a section on rating your skills, then writing out what experience you have and then some suggestions on building your skills and experience.
