What makes Andre different?
I pride myself on my advice being pragmatic, and based around exploring sensible, workable options for my employer and clients. My time with Russell McVeagh provided the finest technical training ground and ingrained in me the importance of being a trusted business adviser. My time with ANZ National has armed me with an important insight into the client's perspective, particularly how to work collaboratively with HR practitioners to deliver appropriate outcomes for the business.
Andre's background
Andre graduated in 1991 from the University of Auckland with a BA and a LLB (Hons) and worked for Russell McVeagh for nearly 10 years in employment law.
After travelling to the USA to complete his LLM degree at the University of Virgina, Andre returned and has since worked at ANZ as Employee Relations Manager. His role involved providing employment law advice to the HR team, representing the Bank in any employment related disputes, and managing the relationship with the financial services union, Finsec including collective negotiations.
Andre also worked through the ANZ and National Bank integration, including advising on the new terms and conditions for managers, negotiating a collective agreement that is the single largest private sector collective agreement, and working as part of the project team that developed a new competency-based pay system for all non-managerial staff.
