Our Team

Angela Atkins

Angela has worked in HR and training for almost 14 years. She co-founded Elephant Training in 2006 and started working full time for the company in July 2007. Her career includes roles within financial services, local government, tertiary, not for profit and retail with companies of 10 employees to 10,000.

She is passionate about making training practical, useful and fun (yes even training about employment law!). She is the author of two books: Management Bites and Employment Bites. Angela manages our training division, is a facilitator and HR consultant.

Lisa Reidy

Lisa has worked in HR for over 14 years within the public sector, tertiary, pharmaceutical and banking services sectors. Her passion is HR generalist work working with managers and executive teams to set up systems, processes and build skills to get the best out of people. She is experienced in large scale change iniatives, both restructing and culture change.

During 2007 she had the opportunity to combine her HR role with business improvement and using Kaizen principles has worked within banking, sales and call centres to simplify processes and create a customer focused culture. Lisa manages our HR contracting team as well as providing HR consulting services, facilitating training, coaching managers and doing consulting on business improvement.

Karen Baird

Karen has worked in HR for over 11 years. She has spent several years within the tertiary sector at Auckland University and UniServices and has also worked in telecommunications and banking (ANZ and BNZ).

Karen has a BCom in Employment Relations & Management from Auckland University. Her expertise includes change management, creating HR depart- ments, improving recruitment and performance management systems and providing HR advice and support and leading change projects. Karen joined Elephant in May 2011 and provides HR advice to small companies as well as completing HR project work and facilitating our HR workshops.

Jenny Cooper

Jenny Cooper is a Registered Psychologist, with several years experience in the organisational field, as well as a previous career in accounting and finance.

She is a skilled facilitator, coach and trainer who has worked with organisations of all sizes, shapes and colours including Auckland City Council, Stevenson Group, Auckland Zoo and the NZ Defence Force.

She believes that in any organisation it's the people that make the difference matter and getting the 'right' fit when recruiting is key.

Jenny joined Elephant in 2008, and designs and facilitates training as well as providing management and career coaching.

Fraser Atkins

After a successful career in IT, Fraser has spend the last few years running small and medium sized businesses including an import/export company, a retail company and Elephant Training & HR Services.

He has a strong background in business management and has particular expertise in performance management and measurement.

Fraser consults to businesses on developing and implementing key perfomance indicators and measures to drive performance as well as being Managing Director.
